Thing-a-day Day #25: Peanutbutter Candy
These candies are made with peanut butter, honey, and dry milk. The children love them. I can’t give a recipe because I don’t use one. You just put some peanut butter in a bowl, add some honey, and then add powdered milk until the dough has a firm consistency. The photo is of a very tiny paper plate, so the candies are not giant (as they seem), but are around an inch in diameter.

Things for Thing-a-day: #21 and #22
Here are my things for days 21 and 22 of Thing-a-day. On the 21st I did some writing and some fancy lettering practice with my fountain pen. It is a Platignum Silverline and it's something I found at a yard sale about 5 years ago. It says made in England and I'm diggin' it now that I discovered it in my desk again. It came in a pack as a Lettering Set and has six interchangeable nibs as well. The one I used makes the largest line.

For today, the #22 of Thing-a-day, I made a lovely envelope with multi-colored stripes. Someone will enjoy getting that in the mail when I get around to letter writing. Maybe next month will be Letter-a-day! :D We'll see....

Thing-a-day Day # 19 and #20
Well, after being sick again yesterday (or the day before yesterday if you want to be technical), I am back with two things. I made one Thursday morning before getting sick, but couldn't list it. And then I made a thing today (which has already turned into yesterday... who writes this stuff?). The thing for Thursday is a sock puppet and the thing for Friday is a pincushion. The pincushion is the rescued patches from the other day. I didn't use them on the jeans, but instead made the little pincushion.

Thing-a-day Day #18: Writing Practice
Today, I did a 10 minute writing practice from a book called A Writer’s Book of Days. I have been trying to write each day and not doing too badly at it. Do you need to see a photo? Well, I took one anyway because it looks sort of neat. I used a fountain pen with a wide calligraphy nib to write my page and a half.

Thing-a-day Days #16 and #17: Patches for my Jeans
Since I was sick with a stomach bug yesterday, with a terrible headache also, I did not make my thing a day. Today, I made two patches for my jeans and will sew them on tomorrow, I hope.

Thing-a-day Day #15: Bunny Butts Greeting Card
Here is a funny greeting card I made today. I always have a blast with rubber stamps. I love the challenge of coming up with humorous cards using only the stamps I have on hand. However, every time I make something with the rubberstamps, I have such fun that I want to run out and buy more stamps. Or make some! Which is a good idea for another Thing-a-day thing...

Here is the fabric strawberry I made today for Thing-a-day. It has sweet heart fabric and felt leaves.

Thing-a-day Day #13: Chocolate Oatmeal No-Bake Cookies, Redux
So, look at the post for Feb, 5th for a photo and recipe. I made these last week also, but this week when I made the new batch, I added peanut butter to the other ingredients. Hey! You got your chocolate in my peanut butter... Very tasty.

Thing-a-day Day #12: Valentine Refrigerator Magnet
Today for Thing-a-day, I made these with some of the children in my daughter's school. The class went well and was quick to do since I cut out all the hearts ahead of time. This time I used some felt that was not wool. I don't love it, but it is much cheaper than wool and nice because the red was 50% recycled pop bottles and the pink was 100%.

Thing-a-day Day #10: Totebag
Today I finished a tote bag which was already in the works. I have been teaching our exchange student to sew and this is a bag she began quite some time ago. We never had time to finish and I told her I would finish it up so she can send it to her mom, for whom it is a present. So, it is a great relief to see it done and ready to go to Germany.

Thing-a-day Day #7: Snowflakes!
Here is my favorite paper art of all time! I love to make snowflakes and guess where I learned how? Mr. Rodgers' Neighborhood, back in the day. I still remember how all these years later. So here they are. I really enjoy how each one turns out so different, but I have also learned some tricks over the years about how to get certain looks. For instance, I enjoy getting the squares and circles that appear inside the snowflake by cutting triangles that are back to back with a thin line between. Hard to explain, but if anyone wants to know, I will post some photos of one being cut out.
